RSPCA Southport, Ormskirk & District Branch tries to find forever homes for Cats, Dogs, and a few small mammals. Many of our animals have suffered cruelty or neglect and are in need of veterinary care, recovery and rehabilitation before they can be rehomed. Generally, we do not deal with animals that need to be rehomed for a variety of other social, domestic or financial reasons unless there is a genuine animal welfare concern.
All of the animals that are currently up for rehoming are displayed on this website and on our facebook page
Our Branch now only accepts its dogs from the RSPCA Inspectorate. This means that we look after some of the most serious cases of cruelty and neglect in the country.
We no longer accept dogs for rehoming from the general public, or allow unrestricted public viewing of our dogs.
When dogs have recovered enough to be rehomed, members of the public will be asked to complete our rehoming questionnaire prior to being given individual supervised access to the dog they wish to rehome.
We are not licensed to take in stray dogs.
We accept both RSPCA Inspectorate cats and cats from the general public for rehoming. Please note that cat space will always be limited, despite our much larger capacity and you may have to ring around a number of animal rescue centres if you are looking to rehome your cat. Please call us to see if we have room before bringing an animal to the Animal Centre.
Members of the public will be asked to complete our rehoming questionnaire prior to being given individual supervised access to the cat they wish to rehome.
