The RSPCA Sheffield Branch, based in Attercliffe, is made up of:
The Sheffield Animal Centre which rehabilitates and rehomes unwanted, neglected and abandoned cats and dogs. We neuter, vaccinate and microchip every dog and cat which comes to the Centre, prior to adoption.
The Charity Emporiums, situated around Sheffield are a vital source of regular income for the centre. We currently have shops in Woodseats, Chapeltown, Broomhill and our Second Hand Superstore in Darnall. We also now more involved with online sales with our own eBay account.
Our Function room is available for hire.
Our Community Memorial Garden is open to the public 9am to 4pm every day, why not come and enjoy this free of charge green space?
The RSPCA Sheffield Branch is a separately registered charity to the National RSPCA which is based in Horsham, Sussex.
Although we receive some support from the National RSPCA we have to generate all our own operating costs ourselves, through local fund raising. We do not receive any funding from the government or local authority. The Sheffield branch of the RSPCA is run by volunteer trustees and costs over £2000 per day to run. This money has to be raised in the Sheffield area only, by staff and volunteers through fund raising, donations and legacies.
We rehome around 1000 animals per year from our Centre, all of which have come to us further to rescue from cruelty or neglect, or that their owners are no longer able to care for them. Our job is to rehabilitate and rehome these animals and to raise the funds to do so.
We never put an animal to sleep unless advised to do so by a vet, to prevent further suffering or for severe aggression to people.
