The RSPCA Essex South and Southend Branch is one of 170 independent branch charities that support the local work of the RSPCA Inspectorate. We are an independent, self funding charity run by local volunteers. We receive no funds from the national society or the government. In order to help animals in this area all money has to be raised locally by volunteers through fund raising, donations and legacies and via our local charity shops.
The branch relies entirely on volunteers to organise fund raising needed to pay for the private boarding, veterinary care and re-homing of animals delivered into our care by RSPCA Inspectors in the local area.
The branch covers the Boroughs of Castle Point, Rochford and Southend on Sea and that part of the District of Maldon on the Dengie Peninsular, to the South of the River Blackwater. We also cover South Woodham Ferrers.
