OnThe Way Home was set up to try and make a difference to the number of unwanted and desperate dogs in the UK. Thousands are euthanised each year, as there is no where for them to go due to overbreeding. Figures for last year from The Dogs Trust state that the number of 7,058 stray dogs were reported as having been euthanised by authorities taking part in the survey, but not all authorities took part. Many of these poor dogs are young and healthy and were mainly the Staffordshire Bull Terrier breed.
OnThe Way home has many plans for the future to help with these unwanted dogs, with the aim of finding as many as possible new and loving homes.
