We are a passionate branch of volunteers. We support cats in need or owners who need assistance.

If we are not in a position to help you, we will signpost you to other organisations who can.

Neutering your cat

We are currently running a large campaign in our area: neuter and chip your cat for only £10

(Please see the neutering section on the left of this page for more information)

Rehoming your cat

We always look for the best outcome for cats. Sometimes rehoming is not appropriate.

We will assess each situation and offer advice.

We have limited fostering facilities so we work with our adoption centres in Warrington 03000 12 16 12 and St Helens 01744 817 718 to meet the needs of our area

Education about cats and their needs

We offer education talks and advice. Please contact us on our main email address to request an education talk or to explain what advice you need.

Please do not hesitate to contact us if you have any queries or need assistance.

If we are unable to help we will always put you in contact with someone who can.

Our main aims for Bolton, Radcliffe and Bury are:

NEUTERING  of cats and kittens as we believe this will help reduce the number of unwanted and stray cats as well as having many health benefits for male and female cats. Please check out the details of our neutering campaign!

REHOMING of cats. We have limited fostering facilities but we are working with our adoption centres in Warrington and St. Helens to rehome cats that need this. We are always looking for the best outcome for cats. Sometimes rehoming is not appropriate. We will assess each situation and offer advice. Cats we offer for adoption will have had a full veterinary package ensuring peace of mind and good value.

EDUCATING people on the needs of cats and how to care for them through giving education talks and offering advice.

Cats Protection has been making a positive difference to cats lives since 1927. With 250 volunteer run branches and 30 adoption centres and continue to grow to meet the increasing demands placed upon us.

Cats Protection helps around 200,000 cats and kittens each year which is over 500 cats and kittens every day on average.  This is a huge number and while we are rightly proud of our achievements, we know more cats need our help.

We operate a lead time of two weeks to issue and deliver neutering vouchers. Please allow this time before making an appointment for neutering at the vet. Your vet will not be able to proceed with neutering at a subsidised cost without the voucher being at the surgery.

We can cover the following postcode areas: BL1, BL2, BL3, BL4 , BL5, BL6, BL7, BL8, BL9, M26, M45

Some areas are not covered by a specific branch.
Please contact us if you live in one of these areas to see if we can help.

We do not offer a veterinary service.
If you are concerned about the welfare of a cat, please contact the RSPCA: 0300 1234 999.

If you need help to provide veterinary care for your own cat, please contact the PDSA:
