Our gorgeous boy Stephen came in via RSPCA Inspectors as a poorly stray.
He has been in the wars, never vaccinated or neutered which led him to fight with other cats and unfortunately he contracted FIV (Feline Immunodeficiency Virus.) Information can be found here https://www.rspca.org.uk/adviceandwelfare/pets/cats/health/fiv
He had several broken teeth and a missing tooth, and conjunctivitis. The first photo shows a poorly weepy sad moggy who was in a lot of pain – but look at him now, a bright-eyed happy, healthy and playful boy! He had a dental and the three broken teeth were removed and he was neutered, he has been vaccinated and microchipped. He was then moved into a foster home.
Stephen is a lovely, very affectionate and cuddly boy. Although he doesn’t seem keen being picked up, his new owner will need to gain his trust here over time, it really is hit and miss! He probably won’t suit children who would want a cat to pick up and cuddle or a busy loud home and one without pets.
Homes we would consider due to Stephen being FIV positive:
NOTE : Being totally indoor-only may be considered as reducing his quality of life, since most FIV positive cats have previously been used to going outdoors. In some cases, being confined indoors can even cause stress, which may further lower their immune system.
