*** We are looking for a fosterer (with a view to adoption) for Poppy. Ideally you will live no further than 30 minutes away from our kennels in Milnthorpe***
Little Poppy is a friendly and affectionate girl once she gets to know you. She can be wary of strangers and strange dogs, however she's quite happy to walk with another dog when she's nice and relaxed. We are looking for an adult only home for Poppy (we may consider a home with sensible, older children) with an experienced owner who can give her the exercise and mental stimulation that she needs. Poppy responds well to a vibrant and active environment so a 'lapdog' life is definitely not for her! Poppy's new owner will need to teach her what her place is within the group, and what she is allowed to participate in and what she isn't. She was protective of her previous owner and has begun resource guarding since she's been in kennels, however that behaviour may not continue once she gets into a home. Someone who has previously had experience of dealing with such issues would be ideal for her.
Poppy has been regularly groomed professionally in the past and that will need to continue. She loves to travel in the car. Medically, Poppy has had hip dysplasia and some teeth had to be removed.
Through no fault of her own, Poppy has been in and out of kennels for almost four months now and we would dearly like to find her a loving home where she can settle and be happy.
