Poppy came into care as her owner felt they were no longer able to care for her. Poppy is a cat who knows what she likes and what she doesn’t like. She is nervous in new situations but also a sociable girl who enjoys being stroked and enjoys a head rub, rubbing against you and perhaps even climbing on your lap, headbutting your face. She also has a very independent side too, liking this attention to be on her own terms, and once she has got to know you. When unsure she offers a little grumble or a hiss, or perhaps a swishy tail to let you know she is worried and wants her own space. She is not a pick up and cuddle kind of girl, preferring the security of her own four paws, but does enjoy being groomed and fussed over once she trusts you. Poppy enjoys being up high on her shelf so she can survey her surroundings and may benefit from shelves or a cat tree in her new home. We haven’t seen her playful side here as yet, but with time and gentle persuasion we are sure this will come.Poppy is looking for an experienced adult only home with no other pets and no children. She is going to need a home willing to work with her personality, learning her body language, and giving her time to learn to trust, but also happy for her to be who she is. Poppy's previous home was in a rural setting so she is looking for a home either in a rural setting or a location away from busy roads.
