PLEASE NOTE THAT DUE TO THE CURRENT COVID RESTRICTIONS WE ARE ONLY ABLE TO CONSIDER APPLICATIONS WITHIN A 1 HOUR DRIVE FROM OUR CENTRE (WR11 7RT). He's utterly adorable and turns heads wherever he goes, Odie is likely to be popular. This handsome little chap is a very complicated character who needs anyone looking to adopt him to see beyond his good looks and fully understand exactly what they are taking on. Odie is bright and enjoys learning, however he is sometimes too clever for his own good. He has already mastered 'sit', 'down' and 'paw' which he will happily show-off to known people for a tasty treat, and playtime is one of Odie's favourite things. Odie is very precious over his resources which will require careful consideration and management in the home.
Odie is seeking a quiet home where there will not be too much activity in and out as he struggles with this. He will need to be promised a consistent routine in order to feel secure, and will also require a lot of dedication in terms of his ongoing training. Odie is a complex little button who will need his body language to be fully understood and interpreted correctly. He is not keen on being handled until he fully knows and trusts people which does take a while to establish. Odie will be seeking a high amount of physical exercise due to his breed and age. It will be crucial for his family to have some experience or knowledge of resource guarding behaviours, and be comitted to the project that Odie will be.
Odie is seeking an adult-only home with no visiting children. He could share his home with a canine companion who is playful, although consideration will be needed in terms of keeping resources seperate to avoid guarding. Odie is housetrained and has always maintained this during his stay with us. He likes travelling in the car, and could be left for around 2 hours at a time to begin with. Previously, Odie had been left for around 5 hours, although it will take a little time to build him back up to this duration in his new home.
