All animals, like us, have individual needs and requirements. By matching these needs, we optimise the chance of a successful adoption placement. To make it easy for you to see if your home environment is compatible with the animal you have selected, we have bullet pointed Monty's specific needs below.
Please before starting the application process for an animal from Southridge, double check that the home you can offer meets Monty's needs. We would very much like to respond to every prospective adoption enquiry we receive, however at the moment this is just not possible for us to do. Therefore, unless your application matches the required criteria, we will not be able to email you back. Similarly if we receive your application after the animal you are interested in has been reserved.
Please continue to monitor the animals we have up for adoption because one that is a perfect match for you and your home will hopefully be available soon. Thank you very much for considering adopting one of our animals. We really appreciate your kindness and support.
Monty is looking for a home with:
-A nice quiet home where he can snuggle up on the sofa
-Children no younger than secondary school age
-No other dogs or cats
-A secure private garden with fences of a least 5ft
-Owners who are willing to provide care for his ongoing medical conditions
-A cosy bed that he can retreat to and curl up on when he wants his own space
*Special appeal for a special boy* Monty is just wonderful,
Would you consider offering an older dog a home? Monty is a sweetheart. He's desperate to get out of kennels and into a loving retirement home where he can nap on the sofa with his new owners or curl up in a cosy bed. Monty is housetrained, calm and gentle and absolutely loves a fuss. He originally came into the care of the RSPCA with an skin condition that his owners were not able to treat.. What a shame for an older boy to find himself in kennels. Monty's skin has improved since he first arrived and so he is now on the lookout for his forever home. Any potential adopters need to appreciate that being in his golden years Monty has a few age related health issues, hes a little stiffer in his movement than he used to be. Please remember that any current medical issues would be classed as pre-existing conditions and therefore excluded from many insurance policies, please consider this and ensure you are happy and able to cover ongoing costs.
Monty is a pleasure to walk, he walks really well on the lead and strolls along beside you. He is very affectionate with people and is well behaved for the vets. He could live with children of secondary school age, because being older he is not particularly playful and likes to have some quiet time. He can be a little selective around other dogs, he may not have been well socialised as a puppy, some dogs he really takes to, others not so much. . Apart from his friend Marvel, he seems to prefer the ladies than the boys. \But we are looking to home Monty as the only dog, so he can have all the fuss and attention to himself!
If you are looking for a loving old boy to keep you company, please send in your perfect match form.
(We are also asking you to please remember that A Dog is for Life, not just for lockdown! If you are aware that your home life/work life may drastically change in a few months please consider the impact that could have on your dog), thank you.
