PLEASE NOTE: We are only taking interest in Maggie but cannot begin the process of rehoming until after lockdown. Magnificent Maggie is a one-year-old St. Bernard with an endearing character that is hard not to love! A big lover of her food, Maggie enjoys mealtime enrichment and settling on her bed with a long-lasting chew. She's also keen to sniff and explore on quiet walks, as well as participating in fun training. Maggie can be a sensitive soul and finds it worrying when meeting new people. Getting to know her will take several visits to our Rehoming Centre, plenty of treats and a patient, gentle approach. With her favourite human pals, Maggie is interactive, affectionate and enjoys spending time in their company.
This sweet lady is seeking a quieter lifestyle, living in a calm and peaceful home with a garden to call her own. Her giant stature reflects her giant heart and the love she has to give, but it also means she requires a home that has enough space for her. A spot on the sofa reserved just for her and a big bed to lounge on would be ideal. While Maggie is currently in the process of learning appropriate greetings and socialisation with other dogs, she still has a long way to go. She can sometimes be vocally reactive upon seeing dogs at a distance, and when close by has been known to get 'bouncy'. She will need to be walked in less-frequented areas, but will benefit from continuing to progress her social skills and management on her walks. Maggie will need to be the only pet in the household, and the youngest members of her family should be aged at least 16. Patient adopters who will embrace her quirks and be understanding of the fact that she may find parts of life more of a challenge, will be perfect for her. Maggie does have a few on-going medical needs that will need to be considered - potential adopters can discuss this in more detail with our Rehoming Team.
