I am currently looking for my new family. To apply to rehome me please click on the 'Come and Meet Me' button below. Applications will close when I have found a suitable match. Due to the current restrictions, we can only accept applications within an hour and half of the Centre.
Maddie is a 5 year old Border Collie. She came into the centre through not fault of her own. Once she knows you, she is sweet and affectionate. Maddie enjoys her walks and will walk alongside calm, quiet dogs; however, she is best suited as the only dog in the home as she loves having all the attention. At times, she can be vocal on lead with strangers but can be distracted with tasty food and would prefer to be walked in quiet areas. Unfortunately, she is unable to live with cats and small furries. Maddie can be worried by new people so will need slow introductions and will suit a quiet adult only home with few visitors. Maddie will need a private, secure garden to play with all her toys. New owners must have had previous experience with this breed or similar as Maddie is worried with visiting the vet and does need to be muzzled, so owners will need to commit to her training needs regarding this. Maddie does have hip dysplasia which is managed with medication and owners will need to be able to be in a position to financially support this. She can still go for walks but there may be restrictions in what she can do.
Maddie loves the company of people and any time being left will need to built up gradually. Once she has a relationship with you, she will be a loving and loyal commpanion. Maddie's home will need to be with an hour's drive of the centre.
In these unprecedented circumstances, we're doing everything we can to continueour vital work caring for thousands of stray and abandoned dogs. If you'd liketo help, please make a donation. Your support means so much, now more than ever.
