Kiko is looking for a lovely, quiet, adult-only home she can call her own. She can become hyper-vigilant and distressed with unpredictable movements and busy surroundings. For this reason, we would recommend a home that has few unannounced visitors, ideally situated in a rural location away from the everyday hustle and bustle. She'll need to be the only pet in the home but would benefit significantly from calm, confident walking buddies. This lovely lady would be best suited to a single-person household. However, we will consider a maximum of two adults in the home should the circumstances fit Kiko's needs. She is doing exceptionally well with her settle training programme and could potentially be left for short periods, once she's settled in her new home. Kiko will need an owner who is comfortable with her staying on a lead and wearing a muzzle when out in public. This clever girl has already been trained to wear a muzzle when she's out and about. The positive, reward-based approach we have taken with this training, means she sees this as no different from having her harness and lead put on. Being an outside kinda girl, Kiko will need a good-size, secure garden with six-foot fencing as a minimum requirement. Here, she'll be able to run around with her toys, explore and play safely off-lead.
Beautiful Kiko is one of the most intelligent dogs and quickest learners we have here at the centre. She thrives on her training and is always eager to share playtime and please her humans. However, Kiko can get a little overwhelmed with the big wide world at times and would like a calm, patient owner who can gradually introduce her to new surroundings. Although Kiko can appear to be a little stern on first appearances, she is actually an extremely sensitive young lady. If you have the patience to allow Kiko to get to know you at her own pace, you'll soon come to realise that this gorgeous girl has a huge heart and just wants to be with you. Once she knows you, Kiko likes to form a strong bond, quickly evolving into your closest, most loyal and loving companion...guaranteed!
In these unprecedented circumstances, we're doing everything we can to continueour vital work caring for thousands of stray and abandoned dogs. If you'd liketo help, please make a donation. Your support means so much, now more than ever.
