Jack

Bull Terrier, Crossbreed | 5 years old

Description

Likes

Jack is a two-year-old Parsons Terrier who is a bundle of energy! He likes to burn off some of that energy by going for long, adventurous walks. He enjoys socialising and playing with other dogs. He likes to use his mind too, he is a clever boy who already knows 'sit', 'down' and 'paw', but why not teach him some more tricks? He would thrive at Trick-Training classes or perhaps some fun agility! Jack enjoys playing with toys, we suggest toy swaps (a toy for a toy) and drop to prevent resource guarding in the future. Jack loves to have a fuss from people he knows, but he can be a bit wary of some people initially. He can sometimes bark at strangers but he comes round quite quickly if nice tasty treats are used.

Type of home needed

Jack is a bouncy, fun high-energy dog who is looking for an active home. He is looking for an adult only home in a quiet environment. He can be hyper-alert to sounds and may struggle to settle. Adopters will need to be patient and understanding especially during his settling in period. Jack is looking for adopters with Terrier experience, he is not suitable for a first time dog owner. Jack could live with a playful, tolerant dog in the home; however he may be easier to manage being the only dog in the home and having doggie pals to hang out with on his walks. Jack has a high chase drive and will be looking for a home without cats or small furries. Any time left alone will need to be built up very gradually. He does have lots of potential in the right home but will most definitely be a work-in-progress. Jack will need to meet his adopters several times before leaving us, so please be aware of this when applying. So that we can provide ongoing support post-adoption, potential adopters should live within one hour's drive of the Centre.
