I am currently looking for my new family. To apply to rehome me please click on the 'Come and Meet Me' button below. Applications will close when I have found a suitable match. Due to current government guidelines all applicants must live within 30-minute drive from the Basildon centre so we can facilitate our 'Handover at home' process.
Five-year-old Gerry is full of beans! His canine carers say he will never fail to make you laugh when he is playing with his toys, he is such a fun-loving, happy, smiley boy! Gerry has one of the waggiest tails we have ever seen and waves it around in all directions when he is doing what he loves most, such as getting fusses from people or being treated to a tasty snack or two! As an ex-racing Greyhound when out and about on adventures Gerry will need to be kept on lead and muzzled as he has a high prey drive. He can be strong on the lead when excited and is asking for a secure garden at home to zoom around in and throw his toys about!
Gorgeous Gerry can live with teens over the age of fourteen due to his size and bouncy nature and needs to be the only pet at home. Gerry travels well in the car and during an overnight stay in a foster home he was a very good boy and had no toileting accidents so we believe he may be housetrained (or very nearly!). Whilst he's finding his feet at home, he would like you to work on building up his leaving hours so he is comfortable being left for short hours, as he just loves to be around people all the time! Gerry isn't being cheeky poking his tongue out at you, he just sometimes forgets to put it back into his mouth! (This makes him all the more cuter).
In these unprecedented circumstances, we're doing everything we can to continueour vital work caring for thousands of stray and abandoned dogs. If you'd liketo help, please make a donation. Your support means so much, now more than ever.
