All animals, like us, have individual needs and requirements. By matching these needs we optimise the chance of a successful adoption placement. To make it easier for you to see if your home environment is compatible with the animal you have selected we have bullet pointed Diamond's specific needs below. Please before beginning the application process for an animal from Southridge double check that the home you can offer meets Diamond's needs. We would like very much to be able to respond to every adoption application we receive however at the moment this is just not possible for us to do. Therefore, unless your application matches the required criteria we will not be able to email you back, similarly if we receive your application after the animal you are interested in has been reserved.
*ADULT HOME ONLY
*EXPERIENCED WITH NERVOUS CATS
*QUIET ROAD, AWAY FROM BUSY ROADS
Please continue to monitor the animals we have up for adoption because one that is a perfect match for you and your home will hopefully become available soon.
Thank you very much for considering adopting one of our animals. We really appreciate your kindness and support.
(Experienced cat owners & adults only please!) Diamond is looking for a home with his best pal Ben. Diamond will need his own space to retreat to long-term (i.e. a spare room), as he is very frightened and nervous. This can make him defensive, so it is vital that he has somewhere to get away when he needs to. These boys have spent such a long time in a cattery environment, so they will need very calm, kind and patient owners who will allow them time to settle and adjust to home life. Ben and Diamond will need access to a private garden via a cat flap once they are settled. Due to their nervous nature it is vital that they are away from busy roads and railway lines. Ben and Diamond will need lots of hidey spots which they can feel safe in. Diamond really likes his food and treats so this will help to gain his trust through positive association and slow, gentle interactions. Having two cats means having two of everything - so they each have their own space, feeding station, litter tray, toys etc.
They need to go to a home together, but with no other animals or visiting children. If you are looking for a pair of true rescue cats and feel you could offer these poor boys a suitable home, please get in touch with the centre via email.
