PLEASE NOTE THAT DUE TO THE CURRENT COVID RESTRICTIONS WE ARE ONLY ABLE TO CONSIDER APPLICATIONS WITHIN A 1 HOUR DRIVE FROM OUR CENTRE (WR11 7RT). Dave is a sweet little chap who needs a little help building his confidence. He is a clever boy who does enjoy learning new things once he is comfortable, and human company is never refused once he has built a bond. Dave doesn't quite know what toys are all about, and shows far more of an affinity for tasty treats instead. He is around a year old and still has a little to learn about the world, although he has made a good start in his previous home.
Dave will be seeking an active lifestyle once he is happy and settled, and is hoping to find a family who can fully understand his low level worries in new places and with new people. He has lived in a home and has remained fully housetrained during his stay with us. Dave is rather wary of traffic and will need a home where he will not have to experience too much of it; He will need further confidence building work in this area, but this should be taken slowly with lots of tasty rewards on offer. Although Dave has made a promising start with much of his training, he will require further work in a few areas. For a family who can fully understand his breed and needs, he will be a fantastic companion.
Dave can share his home with children of secondary school age, and applications with a single primary school aged child will also be considered. He could benefit from living with a canine companion who could act as a calm and confident role model. Dave's home will need to be free of cats, but he may be able to live with other small furry pets if they are securely housed. Dave's time left alone should be built gradually from no more than an hour or two to begin with.
In these unprecedented circumstances, we're doing everything we can to continueour vital work caring for thousands of stray and abandoned dogs. If you'd liketo help, please make a donation. Your support means so much, now more than ever.
