This super special boy is cheeky Charlie, a 5-year-old collie x Labrador who is looking for a very special, patient and loving home to settle into. Charlie is truly one of a kind and has stolen the hearts of everyone here at the centre and is key member of our Dogs Trust family. Charlie is super fun and loves nothing more than racing around chasing after his toys - tennis balls are his absolute favourite, and he will bring them back to you over and over to throw again! Charlie is a very clever boy who loves his training and will learn anything new in exchange for a tasty treat. He would make an excellent companion for an active adult family who love going on long walks and want to get involved in other activities such as agility. He also travels well in the car so will be an excellent companion for adventures further afield! Charlie does take a long time to build a bond and trust you, but once he does he really shows his affectionate side and loves to cuddle up to you and gives the best kisses!

Type of home needed

Charlie is looking for a very specific and special forever home. Charlie is an anxious boy who can be easily overwhelmed and will need a home with a predictable routine. He will need to go to a detached house situated in a quiet, rural area, ideally with land or access to very quiet walks. This is because Charlie can be reactive to people and other dogs when out and about. The home must have a secure garden, be set back from roads and paths and be able to separate him from the front door. Charlie will also need his home to be non-open plan. Charlie must go to an adult only home with minimal visitors and no visiting children as he can be worried by new people. He must be the only pet in the home. Charlie will need minimal leaving hours initially and patient and calm owners who are willing to take the time to settle him in over a period of months. Please note that Charlie will go home on a lead and muzzle disclaimer which means he must be kept on lead and muzzled at all times in public areas.
