Charlie is a pretty five-year-old German Shepherd cross Collie. She can be quite shy when first meeting some new people, but she is gentle, very friendly and affectionate when she knows and trusts you. She enjoys a fuss and she is happy to have her hair brushed by people she trusts. Charlie loves to go for long walks. She likes meeting and walking with other dogs, but she is not keen if they are pestering her or are boisterous. She has shown some interest in toy play. She loves treats and she knows a 'sit' and a 'paw'. Charlie is housetrained and happy to travel in the car for short journeys; on longer journeys she can be car sick. Charlie loves exploring in new environments.
Charlie is looking for a loving adult-only home with adopters who will allow her time to settle. She likes other dogs, but she does enjoy her own space and therefore will need to be the only dog in the home with walking buddies. She could cope with a reasonably busy home environment and should be ok to be left alone for short periods if built up gradually. She is looking for a home without cats, we have no history of her with small furries.
We are currently operating our 'Handover at Home' process (see https://www.dogstrust.org.uk/rehoming/faqs/ for more information) and in order to facilitate this, we are unable to accept applications from people who live more than 2 hours' drive from the Rehoming Centre. If you think you are able to offer the home that this dog is looking for, please contact us on 01271 812709 to request an application form. We will get in touch with successful applications, but we hope you understand that we might not have time to contact every application. Please keep checking our website for more dogs looking for their forever homes.
