All animals, like us, have individual needs and requirements. By matching these needs we optimise the chance of a successful adoption placement. To make it easier for you to see if your home environment is compatible with the animal you have selected we have bullet pointed Ben's specific needs below. Please before beginning the application process for an animal from Southridge double check that the home you can offer meets Ben's needs. We would like very much to be able to respond to every adoption application we receive however at the moment this is just not possible for us to do. Therefore, unless your application matches the required criteria we will not be able to email you back, similarly if we receive your application after the animal you are interested in has been reserved.
Please continue to monitor the animals we have up for adoption because one that is a perfect match for you and your home will hopefully become available soon.
Thank you very much for considering adopting one of our animals. We really appreciate your kindness and support.
*ADULT HOME ONLY
*QUIET ROAD, AWAY FROM BUSY ROADS
Ben is looking for a home with his friend Diamond. They will need to go to an adult only home with no visiting children. They would also be best suited without any other cats or dogs in the home. Diamond and Ben have not been in a home enviornment for a long time so this will be a worrying time for them. They will need a calm patient owner who will allow them time to settle into their new surroundings. Ben is nervous but not defensive, he will need an experienced owner who can continue gentle slow interactions with him. He enjoys short interactions and strokes with humans and is also good to handle for small periods of time (i.e. to hold for vet examination, etc). It would be ideal if the new home had a spare room they could settle in, and retreat to when needed, before being allowed access to the full home. They will need lots of hidey spots and areas they can feel safe in. They will need double of everything so they have their own space, toilet, feeding station, toys etc. They will also need access to a private secure garden via a catflap, away from any immediate dangers such as railway lines and busy roads. Ben loves his food and tasty treats like cooked chicken - so this will really help with gaining his trust and building positive associations. If you are looking for a pair of true rescue cats and feel you could offer these poor boys a suitable home, please get in touch with the centre via email.
