Alexander arrived at the animal centre in November after being found as an injured stray. We believe he may have been hit by a car resulting in his jaw being broken. He was taken to the vets, where he had surgery to stabilise the jaw and following some treatment and cage rest, he is now much more comfortable and is now ready to find his new home. Although a little wary at first, Alexander is a very friendly and affectionate boy who loves his food! He is vocal and really enjoys being around his human carers either having a fuss, a groom or a cuddle as he adores attention.
During his time with us, a routine blood test showed that Alexander is a carrier of FIV (Feline Immunodeficiency Virus). It is a condition which affects the immune system of a cat, this means he will need to be kept indoors and he cannot live with other cats. As he needs to be kept indoors we are looking for a spacious home. There is no reason why Alexander cannot live a happy life like any other cat, he will just need to be closely monitored and have regular checkups with a vet. He is such a lovely cat and a big softy at times who would make a wonderful companion for someone who is willing to give him a chance.
